Christmas Outreach
Since 2011, BWI has served in numerous ways to bring hope, joy, and support to those who need someone to come alongside them during the holiday season in our Louisville, KY community. For 2023, we will partner with JCPS to support families during Christmas. We will sponsor children in the JCPS's Adopt a Family Winter Program. We hope the families receiving the support from the community will help alleviate burdens and let them know that they have been seen and have not been forgotten. If you would like to join BWI in partnering and adopt a family, JCPS will receive sponsors donating gift cards of $100 per child until Friday, December 8th at 4 PM EST.
You can complete the Sponsor Application or contact homelessmlbx@jefferson.kyschools.us for more information. All gift cards (the list of requested gift card businesses is available upon completion of your sponsor application) should be delivered to the JCPS Shawnee Satellite Office at 4018 W. Market St. by Friday, December 8th from 9 AM to 4 PM.

Reverend Toya D. Booth had a vision of serving those in need during the holiday season. She gathered together family and friends, in Louisville, KY and New York, to share the vision, garner support, and solidify a plan of outreach. Bonnafon Webster officially began serving the Louisville community by hosting the first annual Christmas Outreach program. Each year, the organization chooses the project based on the need that has been presented for the year. The first outreach was held Christmas Eve 2011 in conjunction with the Home of the Innocence in Metro Louisville. BWI hosted the Christmas Eve Party for the children who would not have the opportunity to share the holiday with family. The children were escorted to the venue and they were welcomed with Christmas decorations, a hot breakfast, encouraging music, smiling faces, Santa's presence and gifts to brighten there holiday season. Bonnafon Webster partnered with Essence of Love Ministries and Revelations Ministries of Louisville, KY and Set Free Ministries of Mount Vernon, NY to fund the outreach. All toys, hats, gloves, scarves and food were donated by members of the Bonnafon Webster families, friends and supporting members of the Louisville and New York communities.
In 2012, BWI selected families who applied for assistance for the Christmas Season. The selected families received groceries for the Christmas holiday which included a turkey. Each individual in the family also received gifts to brighten their holiday during their challenging time. All food and gifts were donated by members of the BWI family and supporters. |
In 2013-14 and 2016, the BWI supported the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Louisville for the Christmas Outreach by Adopting-A-Meal. The children who are being treated at the Kosair Children's Hospital are fighting to get well and their families are by their side. It is challenging going through such adversity but even more so during the Holiday Season. We, at BWI, reached out to the children and families through the Ronald McDonald House Charities and made sure that we supported these families with a meal to help make life a little easier.
In 2015, we partnered with the Salvation Army's Angel Tree Project by volunteering to assign children to individuals, families, and organizations who desired to sponsor those in need during the Christmas season. Also, Bonnafon Webster went a step above and sponsored a boy and girl from the Angel Tree to make their Christmas a little more enjoyable. Bonnafon Webster Incorporated sees a need in our community during the Christmas season and we respond. Christmas has always been significant to the heart of the Bonnafon Webster families and it has always extended beyond our dinner tables, Christmas trees and homes. We will continue to be vigilant during the Holiday Season to observe how we can be of assistance. If you know of any families, organizations or community projects who can use our assistance and/or support for Christmas 2023, please feel free to contact us at info@bonnafonwebster.org and submit your request for further consideration. |
